Free Blog- Personal Puppet

Right now in 3D art, I am working on a muppet recreation of myself. Because most muppets take on monstery or nonhuman appearances, I created a creature that shares some of my notable features.
I sculpted the head shape, which was different then head bases I have created before. I wanted it to be shaped more egg-like with a prominent snout. I then created the hair using yarn and the eyes and features with felt. I plan to style the hair today, and get started on the arms and legs whenever I am done.

Sherman feels as if she "disappears" into her work; a sense of anonymity. Her early work consists mostly of black and white portraits, where she tells stories through her photography series. Notable examples include Murder Mystery People, Bus Riders, and Doll Clothes, where Sherman wears makeup and costumes to transform herself into a character, telling the story through photos of different characters. She shoots alone in her studio, yet her makeup skills seem as if she has recruited a team of people to be photographed. As photography as a genre has evolved, Sherman's work has changed and upped its game. Emilie Steele

Emilie Steele is a 3D artist from Stockholm, Sweden who specializes in dollmaking. Her dolls are all handmade individually from clay, and then silicon molds are made and later casted in resin. All the clothes, wigs, and accessories are handmade as well. Steele's dolls are very unique, as each one is made individually and carefully. They're very grotesque and odd, having scarily realistic faces often seen with bloodshot eyes and a solemn expression. Despite the creepiness to it all, these dolls are beautiful works of art that immediately caught my eye. I'm interested in dollmaking, and these unique creations are unlike anything I've ever seen before.
