Artemis

Artemis is the Greek goddess of hunting, wild animals, the moon, and archery. She is the daughter of Zeus, and twin sister to Apollo. In most artwork of her, she is depicted as a young woman carrying a bow and arrow, often accompanied by a stag or a dog. In mythology, Artemis is known to be a protector of women and children. She was also a virgin, which attracted many Greek gods and men. Some of her sacred symbols include the moon and a bow and arrow.
