Social Justice
Social Justice is the concept of fair and equal relations between the individual and society. It's the belief in equality for all and the fights needed to get to an inclusive and just society. For example, one aspect of social justice is equality for all genders and education on that subject. Social justice is a common theme a lot of artists might focus on in their work, especially when they are trying to make a social statement. Yayoi Kusama has always been an inspiration to me, and she touched upon sensitive subjects in her work that might not immediately meet the eye. She explores themes in her work such as war, feminism, and mental health. She challenges the male gaze by featuring naked female bodies in her work and explores her own experiences with mental health.
